Have you ever noticed that sometimes it’s those little things in life that can make the biggest difference in an otherwise shitty day? Here are some of the little things in life that make me happy:
- Having my coffee ready and waiting for me when I get up in line at my favorite coffee cart vendors. I have two favorite vendors that I use in the mornings on my way to work and I love that they have my orders memorized. It saves me the hassle of speaking and makes me feel important. Don’t judge.
- Getting free stuff. Even something as small as a free pen from the dentist’s offices can put a smile on my face. I think maybe I was deprived as a child.
- When boyfriend surprises me by bringing me home a fruit tart or cupcake from this amazingly delicious bakery near our apartment.
- When boyfriend surprises me by bringing me home ice cream or candy from the store when I told him not to, because he knew that I really wanted him to. I think I may have a sweet tooth. And an eating disorder.
- Receiving a letter in the mail from my gynecologist a few weeks after my pap smear telling me that I’m STD-free and not pregnant.
- Looking at current pictures of my ex-boyfriends or other sorts of enemies from high school and seeing that they are now fat.
- Sleeping-in on the weekend.
- Receiving mail. That’s not bills.
- New bras from Victoria’s Secret.
- Being told I look skinny. Or that my boobs look big. Because I know it’s true, but it’s still nice to hear.
What little thing(s) in life make you happy?

I love getting real mail too! But writing “real” letters to encorage this just seems like too much of a time committment.

I like a nice bong hit in the morning - it just starts the day off right.
I’d like to see your parents’ faces if you told them you were deprived as a child…
