In case you haven’t already heard, the MTA has decided to make commuters’ lives more hellish. As if being crammed into a a dirty subway car filled with vile strangers leaning all over you every morning isn’t bad enough, they have now decided to cut service. Starting in the spring, you can kiss the W and Z lines goodbye, you will notice reduced service on “dozens” of bus routes and students will no longer get free fare, though I don’t think they should have that anyway because I bet most of those students have more money than I do.
Thankfully, this doesn’t effect me because I ride the V/R/F/E trains and I don’t ride the buses because I have no sense of direction and they scare me, but that sucks for the rest of you. You should be outraged. Sadly, I am not surprised by these actions by the MTA because this is the type of misery I have learned to expect from them. We are constantly suffering at their hands to help cope with the budget deficit that they raked up. Call me dramatic, but am I the only one who sees the injustice of it all?

Ooopsies we came up $400 million short. Ah wha? yup now you can all go suck a big one. ta-daaaaa. seriously as if the buses aren’t a pain the ass already. oh and, AND they basically told the handicap to go f^@% themselves. F.U. students., F.U. handicapped, F.U. New Yorkers…now gimme tax money!
but i’m just looking for a reason to be angry lately anyway. fuel on my fire MTA bitches.

not to mention small businesses now have to pay an mta payroll tax because THEY couldn’t manage their budget. The Hampton Jitney has to pay to subsidize their own competitor? The government obviously is great at handling their business, let’s let them take on our health care now!
